Bucks woman among top 100 entrepreneurs

A bucks woman has been listed in the #ialso top 100 entrepreneurs.

Ceri-Jane Hackling is managing director of Cerub PR in High Wycombe and is part of 100 female entrepreneurs celebrated in the f:Entrepreneur #ialso list.

f:Entrepreneur is a campaign aiming to celebrate businesses led by women in the UK.

This is their second list of 100 female entrepreneurs and Ceri-Jane says she is proud to be included:

"I’m delighted to be included in the #ialso Top 100. Small businesses are the backbone of the country so it’s vital that these businesses are recognised and rewarded for their contribution.

"I believe it’s really important to show young women that their career options don’t just mean being employed by someone else and that entrepreneurship is an option open to them. Running your own business is hard work but very rewarding and if you’re willing to put the work in, the sky’s the limit."

Ceri-Jane founded Cerub PR in in 2003 and was also listed for her work in supporting the local community.

This includes taking part in schools events speaking to students about their career opportunities and working with local organisations on a pro bono basis to help them improve their communications.

Now in its fourth year, f:Entrepreneur is run by peak b, a campaigning organisation looking at conception, management and execution of national campaigns particularly in the small business and enterprise sectors.

Michelle Ovens set up the f:Entrepreneur Campaign, which launched on International Womens Day 2017, because of the growing sense that there should be more recognition for the power women who run so many businesses in the UK.

The goal of the campaign is to celebrate the dynamic and inspirational businesses led by women in the UK and is aimed at both men and women, because everyone has something to learn from these stories of challenge and success.

#ialso was born from a campaign breakfast hosted on International Women’s Day 2018 for 25 people working in the world of empowering female entrepreneurs.

When going around the table introducing, the words that were heard the most were 'I also..." where women described their work as being much more than a single-job career and more of a flexible portfolio.

Michelle said:

“I am delighted to reveal f:Entrepreneur’s second annual #ialso Top 100; the trailblazers demonstrating that entrepreneurialism is a space being reinvented by women. The stories of these women are incredibly inspirational and reach outside the traditional bounds of business, including a number of cancer survivors and carers, amongst many other people who do so much more than their day job.

“This is a campaign that highlights the work of incredible women, but it is not only aimed at inspiring other women. This is for men too; showing everyone that even in the toughest situations in life, it is entrepreneurs who are the people that not only survive but thrive, creating purposeful small businesses and supporting their communities every day.”

The f:Entrepreneur 2020 campaign is sponsored by Tide.
