Bucks County Council have warned against unofficial Coronavirus comments on social media.

Buckinghamshire County Council have issued a statement over Coronavirus advice being shared on social media.

People and businesses are being warned against unofficial advice through comments, posts and videos on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

This follows the news that Buckinghamshire had its first diagnosed case on Friday, the specific location of which has not been officially confirmed.

The statement reads:

"Buckinghamshire County Council is aware that unofficial attempts to provide advice on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus have appeared on social media but we would urge residents to treat these with great caution.

"We would instead reiterate that all official guidance on the Coronavirus is being issued by Public Health England and NHS England.

"This advice is under constant review and is being updated as the situation develops. It can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response and https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19."
