Garden waste collections cancelled in Aylesbury Vale

Because of the 'unprecedented situation' we are in, garden waste collections in Aylesbury Vale have been cancelled.

AVDC say they haven't taken the decision likely, but have to look at prioritising certain services.

Collections of refuse, clinical waste and food will remain a priority throughout and therefore until further notice.

Bulky waste collections are also suspended.

A statement from AVDC reads:

"Please be reassured that these materials are not hazardous if left for longer than two weeks and if you wish you will still be able to take this waste to your nearest Household Recycling Centre.

"Whilst we appreciate that not all residents can travel to an HRC, any that do will help reduce the backlog and allow us to resume normal service more quickly afterwards.

"Any residents who are self-isolating, have COVID-19 symptoms or are in an 'at risk' category should not visit Household Recycling Centres.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this will cause and once we know when the service can be resumed, for customers receiving the garden waste service, we will be in touch regarding how we plan to compensate you for any loss of service."
