Aylesbury's MP praises business adaptability during outbreak

Published by Dan Gooding at 1:00pm 24th March 2020.

We're being urged to listen to the Prime Minister's strict rules by our MP here in Aylesbury.

Rob Butler has been speaking to us following last night's announcement that we should stay at home unless absolutely necessary.

The MP made this plea:

"For the sake of the health of the nurses and doctors and ambulance drivers; for the sake of the health of the police officers, council staff and teachers; for the sake of the health of supermarket workers and delivery drivers; for the sake of your family's health, your neighbours health, for the sake of your health: please stay at home."

Rob has praised the businesses in Aylesbury and around Bucks who have adapted to the changes in the past few weeks.

He told us he has spoken to several business leaders and owners, adding:

"I have been really, really impressed by how everybody is stepping up to the plate, really keen to help, whether that is changing the type of work they do or helping other businesses, or looking after their employees.

"There has been a fantastic commitment which has been really impressive and touching to see."

The MP said that if businesses need specific advice, they should check out the government's website for the latest information.

He has also been working in parliament and with the County Council, along with other MPs in Bucks, to make sure the vulnerable get the support needed.
