Waddesdon turns blue in tribute to NHS

Published by Dan Gooding at 7:00pm 25th March 2020.

On Tuesday night, Waddesdon Manor was lit up slightly differently to normal.

The exterior lighting turned blue to support a movement taking place across the country in support of the work of NHS staff during the coronavirus pandemic.

Simon Wales, Chief Operating Officer at Waddesdon, said:

"We're closed to the public until a time when it is safe to open again, but we want to show the appreciation that the staff and volunteers at Waddesdon have for NHS staff and those working to deliver vital services.

"While we look after Waddesdon for future generations to enjoy, we know that NHS staff are looking after us, so this is just a small way to show our thanks for all they do."

Along with all other National Trust properties, Waddesdon is currently closed to the public, but will continue to provide digital content online and through social media, bringing Waddesdon to people in their homes, until it is safe for them to visit in person once again.
