Four 'suspicious incidents' in Haddenham & Stone

A man from Aylesbury has been arrested, after four suspicious incidents in Stone and Haddenham.

They happened late Sunday night and early Monday morning.

What happened?

At 10.45pm on Sunday (22/3) it was reported that two offenders were seen with a torch looking into parked cars in Churchway, in Haddenham.

Later, at 11.30pm, a masked offender was seen to be checking car door handles, and also looking inside them and in properties, nearby in Creslow Way, Stone.

Then early the next day at 12.53am, two offenders were seen entering rear gardens, and also using a torch to look into cars in Meadoway, Stone.

There was also a report of a damaged fence in a property in Meadoway, that occurred over night, at an exact time not known.

Two of the incidents were just outside Stone

Investigating officer, PC Mandy Cutler, of Aylesbury police station said:

“I am appealing for witnesses to these reports, particularly residents from the local area.

“We believe that these incidents could be linked to one another.

“Someone may have seen or heard something in relation to this, or anything unsual within the timeframe that they occurred.

“Anyone with information is please asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting 43200095146. You can also make reports online, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

A 34-year-old man from Aylesbury has been arrested on:

  • suspicion of attempted burglary
  • breaching a criminal behaviour order
  • possession of a Class B drug

He has been bailed until 16 April.
