Daughter's plea to us after dad dies from coronavirus

One Buckinghamshire woman is urging people to listen to government restrictions after her father died from COVID-19.

Joanna Jacob is sharing the story of her father Jon Jacob, from Chesham, who self isolated two weeks ago after developing mild coronavirus symptoms.

After his condition got worse he was admitted to Stoke Mandeville Intensive Care Unit where he was put on a ventilation machine.

Although his condition improved at times, his family were contacted last Monday (23/03) to say Jon's condition had deteriorated to the point there was nothing more the hospital could do to help.

Sadly, Jon died without his family being able to see him to say goodbye.

Joanna has shared her story on Facebook, explaining before this she had never thought coronavirus could affect her.

She told Mix96 this tragic situation has made her realise the seriousness of the situation which she hopes others understand:

"It's not like a normal death. The circumstances regarding having the register the deaths have made it really difficult.

"We can't have a proper funeral, we've got to wait months to do that. You can't grieve with your family members.

"But I hope is doesn't happen to them. Even if they think they'll be okay they need to start thinking about their family, their friends family and all the vulnerable people around the community."
