Footballer's aim to get us talking about our mental health

A former footballer from Buckinghamshire is encouraging us to share how we're feeling, after being cooped up for nearly two weeks.

Scott Davies is trying to get sixty-second videos posted on Twitter, to highlight how everyone is affected by our current situation.

He told us:

"A lot of the people I speak to are struggling with addiction, whether that is gambling, drugs or alcohol and off the back of that comes a problem with mental health and, to me, it is so important that these people who are struggling, whether it be with anxiety or stress, that they speak about these issues."

We first met Scott in 2015, when he opened up about his gambling addiction.

He's nearly five years bet free and uses his social media presence to talk about these topics.

Scott is hopeful this video idea can help others:

"Talking is the best medicine that you can have because a problem shared is a problem halved and we just want more people to feel open and free about how they are feeling.

"I think that is vitally important, to make the world a better place at the moment."

Another idea is to help the NHS staff working hard to help those who are ill at the moment.

The initiative is to share a favourite photo, again on social media, and pledge £1 to the fundraising page whilst encouraging others to do the same.

Scott wants to help get little extras and luxuries for healthcare workers through the project.
