Urgent appeal for accommodation for Bucks' hospital workers

An urgent appeal is being made for accommodation for doctors and nurses working at Buckinghamshire's hospitals.

Those behind it are looking for one bedroom properties, hotel rooms or B&Bs to house healthworkers.

John Shaw is from an agency trying to help out:

"The staff we are housing, they are generally the key workers whose families are self-isolating or vulnerable, so it is too risky for them to go home.

"Workers, also, may need to self-isolate themselves and also we need accommodation for anybody who may be relocating to the area to help as a volunteer."

Could you help house a healthworker in Buckinghamshire?

The NHS Trust is looking for the following:

  • Single Occupancy accommodation for staff near Stoke Mandeville and High Wycombe
  • One bedroom properties
  • Hotel Rooms
  • B & B Facilities

John said they have had a great response so far:

"We got approached by somebody looking for accommodation and it was a bit of a chain effect.

"We were in a position where we could talk to some of our landlords who have had tenants move out recently, so we have a stock of vacant property and we are looking to link that with the NHS staff who need it."

John's company are fundraising to provide bedding and essentials for these homes. You can contribute here.
