Aylesbury United to stay in Chesham

When football can re-start, Aylesbury United will be staying put, away from the town.

The club have announced this morning they will continue playing home games 14 miles away at The Meadow, where Chesham United also play.

In a statement, The Ducks said:

"Whilst we recognise there care far more pressing issues for the world to deal with, the League and relevant authorities still required the agreement to be ratified (as they do every year).

"We would once again like to thank all at The Meadow for their help and support are once again looking forward returning in due course."

All football matches have been cancelled for the foreseeable future, with United's league among those who have had their results 'expunged' and told that no promotions or relegations will happen this year.

The Ducks haven't played in Aylesbury since 2006, with stints in Leighton Buzzard and Thame as well as in Chesham.

They have tried to return to the town, but their old ground on Buckingham Road is now being demolished.
