Aylesburys MP calls locals to support foodbanks

Aylesbury's MP is calling for support of local foodbanks during the lockdown.

Rob Butler, MP, visited Aylesbury Foodbank yesterday to see the hard work being done by the team.

As with all foodbanks the team is helping people access essential supplies during the coronavirus crisis.

Aylesbury Foodbank

Rob shared his reaction to the support the foodbank is providing:

"The service that Aylesbury Foodbank provides is vital for many people, now more than ever. I was incredibly impressed to see the dedication and efficiency of the staff and volunteers when I visited today.

"The food bank always needs donations - at the moment it is especially short of tea and tinned tomatoes, which would be gratefully received.

DAC Removals

Aylesbury based business DAC removals has partnered with the foodbank at this time to deliver the food parcels across Aylesbury.

They are also offering a grocery delivery service for vulnderable people unable to leave their homes, because of either shielding or self-isolation.

Rob Butler explained he is proud of the community response:

"The efforts being made by local businesses to help during the coronavirus crisis are fantastic. DAC is using its expertise and resources to bring food, medicine and conversation to local people who are unable to go out.

“I already knew that there were many brilliant organisations and businesses in my constituency, but since the coronavirus crisis began, I have been constantly in awe of the way that people have come together to help those most in need."
