PCSOs abused as people flout distancing rules in Aylesbury Vale

A party at a quarry in Pitstone was one of 138 calls police in Aylesbury Vale got on Saturday.

Officers were called out over concerns people were ignoring coronavirus lockdown measures as the good weather continued, including on the Edinburgh Playing Fields.

In a post on Facebook, TVP Aylesbury Vale said that PCSOs had been abused by those flouting the restrictions and vowed to ‘come knocking’.

We reported yesterday that officers attended 114 calls on Good Friday.

Earlier there was another reminder to stay at home.

On the Aylesbury Vale Facebook page, officers said:

We have explained to you the issue and encouraged compliance. What’s left? We can fine you or we can fine your parents/carers, report them to Social Care and you also put any tenancy at risk if we report you for anti social behaviour.

To those of you, the majority - and you are the majority - thank you for staying home. You will make a difference.

Meanwhile, after police saw several people gathering in Vale Park in Aylesbury on Saturday, it looks as if extra patrols have worked today:
