Coronavirus deaths in Bucks rise to 34

NHS England has released the total number of deaths related to COVID 19.

The total number of COVID-19 related deaths at Buckinghamshire NHS Trust Hospitals has risen to 34 according to new figures.

This comes as the number of confirmed cases in the area reported by Public Health England reaches 521.

On Monday (13/04) it was reported by NHS England that 27 people had died at Buckinghamshire Trust hospitals after contracting coronavirus.

However, NHS England has today (15/04) released data confirming there have been 7 more, including 6 over the Easter weekend, coronavirus related deaths

These deaths are recorded against the date of death rather than the date they were announced, which means the most recent days are subject to change as post-mortem tests are processed and data collected.

Confirmed cases in the county now stands at 521, which is up 29 on yesterday. It is important to recognise deaths are reported under local NHS Trusts while cases are by local authorities/councils.

The figure of confirmed cases includes those who have recovered from the illness.

Nationally 12,868 people have sadly died, which is up 761 on yesterday.

These deaths do not include those that happen in the community, at places like care homes and hospices.
