One Aylesbury street's fun reaction to lockdown

People on one Aylesbury road are coming together during lockdown.

With the lockdown extended for at least three weeks, people are looking for ways to keep their spirits up, and residents of Mowbray Road in Aylesbury have an idea.

Twice a week they go into their front gardens and have a dance together.

As well as a dance session they hold a fashion show every Friday.

Kelly lives on the road:

"We can step out of our homes and engage with each other while maintaining social distancing. It brings some normality to see other people and just lightens the mood.

"We all feel really grateful for the community on our street and how the group and the dancing has brought everyone together.

"It's just a great opportunity we intend to make the most of."

Kelly says the community spirit will far out last the pandemic:

"I've talked to more households in the past 3 weeks then I have since I've lived here, and I think its the same for all of us.

"We share our supplies when we're in need... Someone last week needed flour for a birthday cake and three people replied on the group with an offer."

"We can also more easily look out for the vulnerable people on the road by communicating on the group."

It all started from a letter explaining a street Whatsapp was being created to keep people connected.

Kelly says the street is going to be better for it and is encouraging people to do the same where they live.
