Bucks family do incredible dress up everyday

This coronavirus has stopped us socialising, but one Buckinghamshire family haven't let their standards slip - they've continued to dress for dinner.

We're all in lockdown and it's fair to say it can be really hard to put any effort in.

Unless you've got a video call for work do you really need to get out of your pyjamas? You're not going out so why not just slob around in your scruffy clothes?

One Bucks family didn't want to do that.

It all started quite normally when Peter Borg-Neal posted a picture of his family on day one of lockdown with this explainer:

So we’ve decided that if it’s going to be a twelve week lockdown we’re not going to live like slobs.

We’ve agreed that, every night, the household will dress for dinner, will meet for cocktails at 7:30, will drink to friends we can’t be with tonight and then we’ll have dinner.

Day two and things started to get a bit more wacky!

The pictures are being posted to Peter Borg-Neal's facebook page, he's the founder and Chief Executive of Oakman Inns.

He's in lockdown with his wife, Megan Borg-Neal his Step daughter Helena Ellis and her boyfriend Matt Chennells.

Day three was when it started getting really interesting, the family dig out some gothic steampunk costumes and really put on a show!

They're in lockdown in Lower Ascott near Wing but on day four, the family went on Safari whilst having gin and tonics!

Every day they don't just dress up they tag a load of their friends that they wish they could be with and raise a glass to them all.

Day five was all about James Bond.

Martinis, black tie and some very suave looking people.

At this point I was probably just getting out of my joggers and putting pyjamas on, so you've got to admire the effort!

There was a sporting theme to day six as the family recognised how weird it is to have no sporting fixtures at the weekends.

They seem to have all the sporting bases covered here though.

The family have a love of horse racing and are very involved with the sport, so it's no surprise to see this horse-racing themed day.

I'm not sure I'd back that horse in a race though.

I'm not sure what happened on day eight, but it all got a little bit doggy!

The sad thing is that during lockdown, some of these dogs are still better dressed than me!

It was Japanese food on the menu on day nine and so the family got into the mood by dressing for the occasion again.

At this point, you have to wonder how many dressing-up clothes they have.

This was the first time the family did requests as one of their friends asked for them to dress up like 80s children's TV show Rainbow!

Like something straight out of a Mix96 80s night!

To say they were killing it on day eleven would be an understatement.

Please welcome the Tarantino inspired - Winston Wolfe, Mia Wallace, Vincent Vega and The Bride.

Some days you have to do the opposite of what people expect, so on day twelve the family dressed up for dinner by dressing down.

And may we congratulate you all on the poses!!

It's onto the slopes for day thirteen.

The Borg-Neal family had an Apres ski party and I would imagine got very warm indeed.

With the entire family furloughed or unable to work because they're self employed it's given the family time to come up with some ideas.

On day fourteen the family found out Royal Ascot either wasn't taking place or will take place behind closed doors and so dressed as if they were there.

We've all got some lederhosen hanging round at the back of the cupboard right?

Well for the Borg-Neals they put it to good use for this Oktoberfest inspired day 15 as they raised a glass to friends from Germany, Austria, Poland and some of Peter's friends from the pub industry.

On day 16 they were joined by Jonty Eslin, who up until this point had been in quarantine!

To celebrate, Peter took his top off and they went Hawaiian!

Up to day 17 and the family have really nailed the posing.

This celebration of rugby is  also a masterclass in acting!

Admit it, you didn't think it could get weirder, but then the family picked their own costumes.

It appears Matt likes 101 Dalmations a lot.

Day nineteen's theme comes to you by order of the Peaky Blinders.

As soon as this is all over I want a dinner invite please.

Finding costumes is clearly getting a bit tricky and so on day twenty the family dress up as... each other!

I have nothing to say.

This family are amazing. They asked for help with costumes and got some Royal Marine kit!

They dressed up like this to encourage people to donate to the wonderful Captain Tom (justgiving.com/fundraising/tomswalkforthenhs) who walked a 100 lengths of his garden before he turned 100.

A personal favourite of mine, this is when the family dressed up as Joe Exotic and other folks from the Netflix documentary Tiger King.

The real Joe Exotic is currently in prison, but I have a feeling he would love this... except the inclusion of Carol Baskin obviously.

Which brings us up to date with the last picture (so far) that the family have posted.

They've taken inspiration from the Addams family and look, as always, AMAZING.

Thankyou

These are unusual times and it is wonderful to see a family enjoying themselves as best they can and keeping other people entertained.

So thank you to Peter and Megan Borg-Neal,  Helena Ellis, Matt Chennells and Jonty Eslin for letrting us use your pictures, you've made us smile.

The family say they could run out of dressing up items soon, but have promised they won't let the standard slip, they'll go out with a bang!
