Aylesbury United's under 9 team fundraising challenges

A host of challengers have been organised for the team as they raise money.

Aylesbury United's under 9 team have decided they will be setting themselves challenges to keep busy, but raising money at the same time.

Last week there was a kick up challenge but today is a big one, many of the team are taking part in a head shave.

Billy's mum Danielle explained how it all started:

"Originally we were all doing challenges to keep the boys busy and in touch with each other and then we just decided we have a great platform with what we are already doing to raise money.

"We have also got key workers and people working in the NHS and in hospitals. The fact we have mums and dads going out to work and leaving their young family at home... Putting their own lives at risk to help others is another reason we decided to do this."

From 3 pm today the boys will be having their hair shaved by a member of the family but they don't seem too nervous:

Danielle explained that the challenges have helped everyone during lockdown:

"We have a whatsapp group set up for the parents, great support from the 'football family' as we call ourselves. It's very much like we are all looking after eachother.

"I think doing this fundraising is really helping everybody as well."
