Aylesbury chip shops helping to treat those struggling

Those struggling to get by at the moment could get a little treat, thanks to chip shop customers in Aylesbury.

A scheme has been set up by The Codfather, allowing people to buy an extra meal as a voucher for users of the foodbanks to claim.

They have partnered with Aylesbury Foodbank and Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse to run the project.

Juliano Brito runs The Codfather:

"We thought about possibly raising money but I think what came to mind was just giving those people who probably can't afford it that treat.

"Matching every donation is what we will give back."

Juliano told us this is all part of their philosophy to bring the community together, through their shops on Buckingham Park and Jackson Road.

He continued:

"At the moment we have got 50 donations, which in turn with us matching them means we have got 100 meals so far.

"If we can give something back to those less fortunate, who can't probably get a treat of fish & chips, now they have the opportunity to do so."
