Coronavirus in Bucks: 1 more death reported

The number of people who have died in hospital with coronavirus in Bucks has reached 104.

The total has gone up by one, after rising past the 100 mark yesterday.

It means 13 people have died with Covid-19 in a week in Buckinghamshire.

New data released today showed that there have also been 89 deaths in Buckinghamshire carehomes.

35% of residential and nursing homes in Aylesbury Vale are reporting confirmed of suspected cases of coronavirus up until May 3rd.

Official figures up until May 1st do show that for the first time there has been a weekly dip in the overall number of people dying across the UK.

Local figures

Last week Mix96 shared a map showing the impact of coronavirus on local areas and yesterday Public Health England released the number of positive cases in local areas alongside a total for the county.

This shows that of the 891 positive COVID-19 cases in Buckinghamshire, 355 are from Aylesbury Vale which is the highest figure in the county. 

Wycombe has seen the second highest at 221, this area is also the only one to report a rise since yesterday when there were 220 cases.

Chiltern remains at 175 and South Bucks figure has also stayed at the report number of 140.

There have been mobile testing sites set up across Buckinghamshire, with the latest site at Swan Pool in Buckingham opening tomorrow, although this is only open to certain people.

The figure of confirmed cases includes those who have recovered from the illness.
