Coronavirus in Bucks: Cases pass 900

Three of the four local areas have reported further cases, although the number of deaths remains the same.

Coronavirus in Bucks: Cases pass 900

Overall Buckinghamshire has seen an increase of 8 positive COVID-19 cases.

The total number of positive test results in Buckinghamshire has risen to 906. 

Wycombe has seen the highest local increase of 4 cases since yesterdays figure, now totaling 226.

Although Aylesbury Vale continues to have the highest figure of positive cases in Bucks at 360, up three on yesterday. 

South Bucks reporting 142 positive cases, which is a rise of one.

While Chiltern's total has remained the same at 178 confirmed cases.

There have been mobile testing sites set up across Buckinghamshire, with the latest site opening in Amersham tomorrow and the Swan Pool in Buckingham site opening yesterday, although this is only open to certain people.

Deaths

As no further deaths of people who have died in Bucks hospitals with coronavirus have been reported, the total remains at 104. 

The total passed 100 on Monday, and today is the second day in a row no rise has been reported.

Data released today by the Office For National Statistics revealed the types of health problems that can put people who catch COVID-19 at more risk. 

Of those who had an underlying health condition who died with coronavirus, 26% had diabetes, 18% had dementia and 15% had chronic pulmonary disease.

Last week Mix96 shared a map showing the impact of coronavirus on local areas, through a map which shows roughly the area people who have sadly died from the virus were from.

Care homes

Data released this week showed that there have also been 89 deaths in Buckinghamshire carehomes.

35% of residential and nursing homes in Aylesbury Vale are reporting confirmed of suspected cases of coronavirus up until May 3rd.

Official figures up until May 1st do show that for the first time there has been a weekly dip in the overall number of people dying across the UK.
