Attempted burglary in Monks Risborough

Police are appealing for information after the attempted burglary of an elderly woman’s house.

Two offenders attempted to gain entry through the front door of the property on Aylesbury Road on Thursday (14/5) at around 9.15pm, but fled after being disturbed.

The 89-year-old was asleep at the time and was woken by the noise at the front door.

The offenders were dressed in black, wearing black face coverings and hats and it's believed they may have been travelling in a silver Audi TT.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Gareth Cowley said:

“This was an extremely frightening incident for the victim, an 89-year-old who was asleep when the offenders attempted to break into the property.

“We are appealing to anyone with information to contact the force as soon as possible. We are particularly interested to hear from anyone who saw a silver Audi TT car in the area, as we believe the offenders may have travelled in this vehicle.
