Over 300 coronavirus-related deaths in Bucks

316 people are now known to have died with coronavirus in Buckinghamshire.

27 more fatalities were added to the list of people who lost their lives up until 8th May.

Some were not registered until last week, which leads to the delay in reporting.

So far in 2020 in Buckinghamshire:

  • 178 have died in hospital
  • 124 care home residents have been lost
  • 2 deaths happened in a hospice
  • 9 people passed away at home
  • 3 deaths happened in 'other communal establishments'

Some of these stats differ compared to previously released numbers, which the Office for National Statistics says is 'due to improvements in the way we code place of death'.

How do the districts compare?

Aylesbury Vale has seen the most cases overall of coronavirus.

It has seen the most number of deaths registered as well, with 109 people passing away with coronavirus.

Wycombe comes next, with 84 people losing their lives.

Chiltern has seen 83, whilst South Bucks registered 40.

Overall in Buckinghamshire this year, 2,344 people have died.

This means 13.4% of deaths registered in 2020 have Covid-19 on the death certificate.
