Man charged with assaulting emergency worker in Wycombe

After a woman was robbed and a police officer spat at in High Wycombe, a man has been charged.

A woman was followed after leaving the BP garage on West Wycombe Road on Monday by a man who asked repeatedly for a cigarette.

The woman ignored him and when she crossed Oakridge Road the man put his hand in the victim’s pocket and pushed the victim to the ground.

She hit her head and was also then kicked by the man who stole some tobacco and then left the scene.

The woman sustained cuts and bruises but did not need hospital treatment.

On arrest in connection with this incident, a man spat at a police officer.

Niall Horn, aged 33 of Oakridge Road, was arrested on Tuesday (19/5) and charged on Wednesday (20/5) with one count each of robbery, common assault of an emergency worker and breach of court bail conditions.

Horn appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court yesterday (20/5) and he is due at Aylesbury Crown Court on 15 June.
