Coronavirus in Bucks: Cases rise in Bucks

Buckinghamshire has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases to 966. 

Aylesbury Vale has the highest number at 388, this is just over 40% of the total cases in the county.

Wycombe has the second highest amount at 235 cases. 

Chiltern follows with 198 positive results and South Bucks have 145 cases currently recorded.

Overall Buckinghamshire has seen an increase of 7 positive cases reported since yesterday (Wednesday 20/05).

There have been mobile COVID-19 testing sites set up across Buckinghamshire in recent weeks, with two more opening over the bank holiday weekend in Amersham and Buckingham.

As no further deaths of people who have died in Bucks Healthcasre NHS Trust hospitals with coronavirus have been reported, the total remains at 111.

Figures released this week by the Office for National Statistics put deaths in hospitals in Buckinghamshire at 178, although this may include non-Trust sites.

This data also showed how many people in each lcoal area had passed away with coronavirus.

The ONS data also include deaths of care home residents and has put that figure at 124. 

These figures are different to ones previously shared, which the ONS say is because of 'improvements in the way we code place of death'.

The number of people who have died at hospices in the area was revealed to be 2.

The figure of confirmed cases includes those who have recovered from the illness.

Numbers are for Buckinghamshire, excluding Milton Keynes.
