Coronavirus deaths pass 330 in Bucks

338 people are now known to have died with coronavirus in Buckinghamshire.

22 more fatalities were added to the list of people who lost their lives up until 15th May.

Some were not registered until the end of last week, which leads to the delay in reporting.

So far in 2020 in Buckinghamshire:

  • 188 have died in hospital
  • 135 care home residents have been lost
  • 2 deaths happened in a hospice
  • 10 people passed away at home
  • 3 deaths happened in 'other communal establishments'

Some of these stats differ compared to previously released numbers, which the Office for National Statistics says is 'due to improvements in the way we code place of death'.

It is also down to where deaths are registered, rather than hospital trust reporting, which we get daily.

How do the districts compare?

Aylesbury Vale has seen the most cases overall of coronavirus.

It has seen the most number of deaths registered as well, with 113 people passing away with coronavirus.

Wycombe comes next, with 92 people losing their lives.

Chiltern has seen 88, whilst South Bucks registered 45.

Overall in Buckinghamshire this year, 2,467 people have died.

This means 13.7% of deaths registered in 2020 have Covid-19 on the death certificate.
