Aston Clinton boy marks his six year fight with cancer

An Aylesbury Vale family are starting a fundraising campaign to mark six years of their little boy having cancer.

Dylan Mitchell's family have launched 'Dylan's Super 6' challenge to raise vital funds for his treatment.

In May 2014, at just two-years-old, Dylan was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. Since then over £35,000 has been raised towards his treatment.

Dylan's mum Jessica decided earlier this year to launch this new challenge by walking around 6 of his favourite Pokemon go and play parks to mark his six year fight against cancer, but due to Covid-19 this now isn't possible.

The family are currently shielding and therefor unable to leave the house except for hospital appointments, but Jessica's best friend Jo has stepped up to the challenge.

Jo is now using her daily exercise time over six days to complete Dylan's Super 6 challenge while Jessica is walking a mile a day for 6 days in her back garden.

Being stuck at home Dylan isn't able to get out and enjoy the parks he loves, so Jessica is asking you to get involved and share your pictures for him to enjoy.

The suggestion is you take a walk at your local park and do the following:

  • Take a picture of video
  • Tag @dylanscancerdiary
  • Hashtag #DylansSuper6
  • Add the donate link
  • Tag six friends to join in
  • Donate £6 if you can
Dylan

You can also make your donation by texting ‘DYLAN’ followed by a space and any number from 1 to 20 to 70085 to donate that amount. Texts will cost your donated amount plus one standard rate message.

Jessica posted on the Facebook page saying:

With Dylan’s big love of superheroes, we were thinking it might be a cool idea if kids went to the park dressed up as Superheroes. I’ll show Dylan all the pictures and I know he’ll be ecstatic to see them.
