Another 21 coronavirus deaths registered in Bucks

359 people are now known to have died with coronavirus in Buckinghamshire.

In the latest figures, 21 more fatalities were added to the list of people who lost their lives up until 22nd May.

Some were not registered until the end of last week, which leads to the delay in reporting.

So far in 2020 in Buckinghamshire:

  • 200 have died in hospital
  • 144 care home residents have been lost
  • 2 deaths happened in a hospice
  • 10 people passed away at home
  • 3 deaths happened in 'other communal establishments'

These numbers, particularly hospital deaths, differ to those we get each day, as those are from hospital trust, whilst the ONS are for local authority level.

How do the districts compare?

Aylesbury Vale has seen the most cases overall of coronavirus.

It has seen the most number of deaths registered as well, with 122 people passing away with coronavirus, up from 113 last week.

Wycombe comes next, with 99 people losing their lives, up from 92.

Chiltern has seen 91, whilst South Bucks registered 47.

Overall in Buckinghamshire this year, 2,596 people have died.

This means 13.8% of deaths registered in 2020 have Covid-19 on the death certificate.
