Coronavirus in Bucks: Cases rise

Buckinghamshire has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases to 1,008. 

Aylesbury Vale has the highest number at 416, this is over 40% of the total cases in the county.

Wycombe has the second highest amount at 246 cases. 

Chiltern follows with 200 positive results and South Bucks have 146 cases currently recorded.

Although the rate of infection in Buckinghamshire is slower here compared to the UK average, cases topped a thousand for the first time over the weekend.

There have been mobile COVID-19 testing sites set up across Buckinghamshire in recent weeks, with more opening through the week.

Deaths

As no further deaths, of people who have died in Bucks Healthcare NHS Trust hospitals with coronavirus, have been reported the total remains at 117.

Figures released today by the Office for National Statistics put deaths in hospitals in Buckinghamshire at 200, although this may include non-Trust sites.

This data also showed how many people in each local area had passed away with coronavirus.

Care homes

The ONS data also includes deaths of care home residents and has put that figure at 144. 

These numbers, including care home deaths and hospital deaths, differ to those we get each day as the ONS are for local authority level.

The figure of confirmed cases includes those who have recovered from the illness.

Numbers are for Buckinghamshire, excluding Milton Keynes.
