Haddenham mum watching illness affect all three children

A mum in Haddenham is watching an illness affect all three of her children - and they need your help.

Mason and Taylor have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and their little sister Bonnie is showing symptoms too.

Every muscle in their body is deteriorating which will lead to respiratory and heart failure.

The oldest boy has limited movement and the younger boy is almost always in his wheelchair.

Recently a church in Princes Risborough has been trying to help improve their garden to help out their mum.

Wendy Pawsey is one of the vicars at Elim Church:

"It would be bad enough to watch one child, but mum is on her own watching three children suffering with this disease.

"We just want to come round and support them and love them, and we just know that the community that we have got here is just so amazing that we are really hoping and praying that people are going to come around and support this family."

As a church they have managed to provide some seating, clear their garden, the grass was approximately 4/5ft high, and the local Parish Council have agreed to maintain it.

But now they have hit a brick wall and need some help.

Wendy told us the garden is accessible for Bonnie, but not for the boys:

"For the two boys who need to be in their wheelchairs, it's just not accessible.

"There is a patch in the garden but it's not wide enough for wheelchairs, so we would really love to make a patch which is wide enough for them to independently go out into the garden."

It's mum's ambition to create a race track for Mason and Taylor to use.

Wendy is hoping that people will be able to provide material, expertise and practical help in making this happen.

If you can help, you can email Wendy here.
