Number of new coronavirus deaths dropping in Bucks

10 more people have passed away with coronavirus in Buckinghamshire.

The latest figures, for up until 29th May, show 369 people have died with the illness here.

However, this appears to show a slowdown of new registered deaths.

The previous three weeks had increases of 21, 22 and 27 on the previous numbers.

So far in 2020 in Buckinghamshire:

  • 205 have died in hospital - up by 5 on the last release
  • 149 care home residents have been lost - again up by 5
  • 2 deaths happened in a hospice - no change
  • 10 people passed away at home - no change
  • 3 deaths happened in 'other communal establishments' - no change either

These figures are for deaths up until 29th May but registered up until 6th June.

These numbers, particularly hospital deaths, differ to those we get each day, as those are from hospital trust, whilst the ONS are for local authority level.

How do the districts compare?

Aylesbury Vale has seen the most cases overall of coronavirus.

It has seen the most number of deaths registered as well, with 127 people now confirmed to have passed away with coronavirus, up from 122 last week.

Wycombe comes next, with 101 people losing their lives, up from 99.

Chiltern has seen 91 (no change), whilst South Bucks registered 50 - up by 3 on last week.

Overall in Buckinghamshire this year, 2,670 people have died.

This means 13.8% of deaths registered in 2020 have Covid-19 on the death certificate.
