Empty Aylesbury town centre site could become flats

More flats could be coming to Aylesbury town centre.

31 could be built as an extension to the converted Heron House on Buckingham Street, this time facing out onto New Street.

It is based off a design turned down six years ago and includes parking and landscaping, replacing the empty space there now.

A previous application for 2014 wasn't approve because of issued with the design of the building, access and transport.

Those behind this idea are confident they have addressed all these problems and the building would fit better with the surroundings.

This application is for the creation of 31 residential dwellings in a mixture of one bed and two bed apartments.

It includes under croft car parking and cycle shelter on the ground floor and relocates the existing electrical substation within the site.

There would be a pedestrian entrance form New Street.

There are also long-standing plans for new homes further along at the Sainsbury's site, although work is still yet to start.
