HS2 to build temporary road entrance in Aylesbury

Work for a new temporary road entrance in Aylesbury begins today.

HS2 will construct a new temporary road entrance, called a bell mouth, off Risborough Road near Stoke Mandeville.

This access point will enable them to then build a temporary internal access road.

The company say this access road will mean they can continue archaeological works at St Marys Church.

HS2 say they are in contact with SGN and Vodafone who will need to re-lay their roadside verge utilities to a deeper depth in the same locations.

Which should mean the utilities connections are not impacted by the creation of the access point and remain constant.

The high speed railway has been controversial, with many campaigning to stop it being built.

However, it was given permission to continue onto the next stages of delivery back in February.
