Bucks Council warn of bin collection delays

Household waste collection across Buckinghamshire may be affected by the heat.

Buckinghamshire Council have sent out a warning to residents about bin collections during the hot weather.

As temperatures reach 31 degrees in some areas they say their wast collection crews may run slightly behind.

Staff are recommended to take more breaks and encouraged to drink more water through their shift.

Which the council say may mean collections run slightly behind their usual schedule.

Bill Chapple OBE, Buckinghamshire Council Cabinet Member Environment and Climate Change, said:

“The job is very physically demanding and we want to ensure that our teams look after their personal health and wellbeing not only for themselves but so that we can maintain a full service while the temperatures stay high.

“We are asking residents to put their bins out as usual and leave them out – we may collect later than usual, but we will collect!”
