Five more people pass away with coronavirus in Bucks

The latest weekly figures show five more people have died with coronavirus in Buckinghamshire.

Deaths with the virus here now stand at 388, up by five on last week's numbers.

It means we've seen four weeks of single-figure rises in fatalities: two last week, seven and five the weeks before that.

These numbers are for deaths up until 26th June, but registered up until 4th July.

So far in 2020 in Buckinghamshire:

  • 218 have died in hospital - up by 2 on the week before
  • 153 care home residents have been lost - up by two on last week
  • 2 deaths happened in a hospice
  • 11 people passed away at home
  • 4 deaths happened in 'other communal establishments' - up by one on last week

We have seen several days without any new deaths at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust hosptials.

These numbers, particularly hospital deaths, differ to those we get each day, as those are from hospital trust, whilst the ONS are for local authority level.

Overall in Buckinghamshire this year, 2,603 people have died.

This means 14.9% of deaths registered in 2020 have Covid-19 on the death certificate.
