Case against HS2 in court today

Work has already started on HS2 sites across Buckinghamshire, but the case against it is going to court.

In February the government gave the go-ahead for HS2 - with approval for work to begin across the country. 

Stoke Mandeville in Aylesbury and Steeple Claydon are just some areas that have seen construction work begin in Buckinghamshire since then.

However, naturalist and campaigner Chris Packham launched a case to review the governments decision over HS2. 

This was dismissed by the High Court, however the Court of Appeal has decided to hear the case today.

One of the key reasons Lord Justice Lewison gave for approving the hearing was the 'considerable public interest' that has been shown.
