Second-lowest weekly increase in Bucks coronavirus deaths

Another three people have died with coronavirus in Buckinghamshire.

Deaths with the virus here now stand at 391, up by three on last week's numbers.

We have seen five weeks of single-figure rises in fatalities: five, two, seven and five in the previous weeks.

These numbers are for deaths up until 3rd July, but registered up until 11th July.

We are likely to see the numbers go up even more, as we saw more deaths announced by Bucks Healthcare yesterday.

So far in 2020 in Buckinghamshire:

  • 219 have died in hospital - up by 1 on the week before
  • 155 care home residents have been lost - up by two on last week
  • 2 deaths happened in a hospice
  • 11 people passed away at home
  • 4 deaths happened in 'other communal establishments' - up by one on last week

These numbers, particularly hospital deaths, differ to those we get each day, as those are from hospital trust, whilst the ONS are for local authority level.

Overall in Buckinghamshire this year, 2,676 people have died.

This means 14.6% of deaths registered in 2020 have Covid-19 on the death certificate.
