Man punched to the ground in Amersham attack

A man has been punched to the ground and spat at in Amersham - leaving him with a fractured cheekbone.

He was attacked by two men after an argument outside a pub in the town early in the morning two Sundays ago.

Police have now released descriptions of those invovled.

What happened at the Amersham pub?

At around 1am on Sunday 5 July, the victim, a man in his thirties, was in the car park of The Chequers Inn on London Road when he became involved in a verbal altercation with two men.

The first man punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground, and the second man spat at the victim.

The victim sustained a fractured cheek bone, grazes to his forearm and cuts to his fingers. He required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

Descriptions

The first offender is described as a white man, aged in his late twenties or early thirties, and of a slim build. He was bald and was wearing a white jumper and jeans.

The second offender is described as a white man, aged in his twenties, and of a slightly larger build than the first offender. He was wearing dark clothing.

Investigating officer PC Sarah Lansley, based at Amersham police station, said:

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

“This incident was not reported to the police immediately, but there were a number of people in the car park at the time who may remember something about the incident.
