Chesham theatre prepares to reopen

Staff have been preparing for the reopening by making masks for anyone who might need one.

The theatre in accordance with government guidelines is set to reopen tomorrow, Saturday 25th July after closing earlier this year following the Coronavirus pandemic.

To ensure customer safety a team of staff led by one of the theatres volunteers have been sewing masks to not only have a supply if anyone needs one, but to also prepare in case it becomes a mandatory requirement.

Theatre Manager, David Cooper, said:

"We have spent several weeks cleaning and prepping ready to welcome our customers back. We're kicking off with the Oscar-winning hit Parasite as it had been much-requested, but had to be cancelled due to lockdown. Having a supply of masks ready shows that our customers' safety is paramount and that we want to make every experience at The Elgiva as safe as it is fun."

Other safety measures in place include a reduced audience capacity and careful seating of guests to ensure appropriate social distancing, additional cleaning, one way systems, signage, screens and sanitising points.
