Aylesbury United's under 9 team raise £2,500 for hospital

Aylesbury United's under 9s team held a series of fundraising events.

In May, Mix96 told you about a sponsored head shave being organised by the Under 9's team at Aylesbury United to support their local hospital.

That head shave, along with other fundraising events, raised an impressive £2,500 for Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

This has allowed the team at Ward 8 to purchase a much needed ECG machine.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity.

Due to COVID-19 restritions on a few of the team were able to visit to present the staff with the new machine on July 10th.

Neil Macdonald, Chief Executive of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, said:

“Once again members of the local community have gone above and beyond to fundraise for the Trust.

"I’d like to say thank you, on behalf of Ward 8 and the Trust, to Aylesbury United Juniors FC under 9’s and those who have supported their fundraising efforts.”
