M40 accident leaves motorcyclist with life threatening injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash on the M40 at around 10.59pm on Saturday night.

Officers were called to reports of the incident involving a black Suzuki motorcycle and a white people carrier on the M40 Southbound between junctions 3 and 2.

The male motorcyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe in Oxford with life-threatening injuries.

Senior Investigating Officer Sergeant Gaz Doughty of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Three Mile Cross said:

“I am making an appeal for anybody who witnessed this collision to please make contact with Thames Valley Police on 101. I believe other vehicles may also have been involved in the collision and a number of these have stopped at the scene to offer assistance to the injured motorcyclist, but I believe others will have seen what happened.

“I am urging those people to please make contact, and particularly anybody who may have dash-cam footage of this collision to please check this and call 101 if it has captured anything that can assist this investigation.

“Anyone with information, please get in touch, quoting URN 1460 (25/7).”

The southbound carriageway was completely closed for collision investigation work, but has since re-opened.
