Hundreds raised to help little Aylesbury cat

After a cat was knocked down in Aylesbury, his owner has seen hundreds of pounds raised to help pay the vet bills.

Lucifer was knocked down on Fairford Leys, before his owner has had a chance to insure him.

The bills for his treatment are at around £1,700 and that's not something Victoria had to hand.

So she set up a GoFundMe page to see if people would help and, so far, £750 has been collected.

On the page, she wrote:

"My mum got lucifer for me and my son as we had gone through a traumatic few years.

"Lucifer gave  me and son a new lease for life and I had found my best friend."

The cat has a fractured pelvis and a horrific wound to his back leg, but he managed to crawl back home.

Victoria says he rarely goes out or ventures very far, but on the day in question got a little more adventurous.

The plan was to buy pet insurance when she got paid.

She added:

"Believe me no one can make me feel any worse than I already do and I feel so irresponsible.

"The vet said he will recover but it’s going to be a long process and cage rest for him.  My heart breaks and I’m out of my mind for worry.

"I’ve never asked for anything from anyone but I’m having to bite the bullet and ask for any help anyone can give towards his vet bill.

"I miss him so much I’ve not been able to sleep or eat properly since this happened. I just want my baby home safe and well."
