Bucks coronavirus deaths hit 400

400 people who have tested positive for coronavirus in Buckinghamshire have died.

The latest weekly figures are out, with a rise of two on the previous total.

We have seen seven weeks of single-figure rises in fatalities now.

Last week's update saw the biggest jump in that time, with seven new fatalities reported.

So far in 2020 in Buckinghamshire:

  • 225 have died in hospital - up by 1 on the week before
  • 157 care home residents have been lost
  • 2 deaths happened in a hospice
  • 12 people passed away at home - up by 1 on the week before
  • 4 deaths happened in 'other communal establishments'

These numbers are for deaths up until 17th July, but registered up until 24th.

Hospital deaths from ONS differ to those from Bucks Healthcare as these could be from hospitals outside their remit but patients are from Buckinghamshire.

Overall in Buckinghamshire this year, 2,832 people have died.

This means 14.1% of deaths registered in 2020 have Covid-19 on the death certificate.
