Aylesbury man jailed over child sexual offences

An Aylesbury man has been jailed for sexual offences involving a child.

Joshua Dealey, 31, of Buckingham Street, Aylesbury was sentenced to 5 years and 4 months imprisonment for sexual offences involving a child.

Dealey pleaded guilty at a hearing in June (02/06) to:

  • one count of causing/inciting a female child under 13 to engage in sexual activity – no penetration
  • one count of causing a child under 13 to watch a sexual act
  • and two counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order

Between 2 and 3 April 2020, Dealey engaged in sexual communication with a child online. He was charged on 17 April.

He appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court last Thursday (23/07) where he was sentenced to jail time with an extended licence period of seven years.

Dealey will also remain on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Samuel Summers, based at Aylesbury police station, said:

“Joshua Dealey is a dangerous and predatory offender who, having already been released from prison on licence for similar offences, went onto commit further offences during the COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ period.

“This significant sentence shows Thames Valley Police’s commitment to safeguarding the vulnerable and bringing offenders to justice
