Waddesdon Offers Pint Sized Art

Long Dog Pub

8:01am 28th April 2012

The Long Dog pub in Waddesdon is exhibiting works of art worth over £18,000 by international artist Roy Holding from today,  until 15th May.

Landlord Alan Richards, cultivated a love of all things arty from a young age and thinks opening up his wall space during Waddesdon Manor's Art show is a great way of allowing a seasoned artist's work to be seen by those who cannot afford to visit the National Trust Manor House.

Alan told Mix 96: "As well as supporting the Waddesdon Manor event, we wanted to show the cream of the crop on our walls.

We pride ourselves on being the best 'free' attraction in Waddesdon.  I am very excited about showing Roy's collection... to collaborate with one of the most respected painters in the county is an immense honour."

Landscape painter Roy Holding, 75, has a wealth of knowledge working in oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastel and mixed media.  His paintings have such strong features you almost feel that you are deep in the hillsides of Wales or basking in the sunshine of Italy.  Known in Milton Keynes as 'The Master', Roy has been painting for over sixty years, having exhibited and lectured across various continents.  His art is in private collections worldwide.

There will also be free art sessions (for young children) with Emma Hockley of The Flemming Collection Gallery, London, during Waddesdon Manor's Art show on 5th & 6th May.

For details please call Alan on: 07595 600 008.
