And of course Pink Floyd were involved in this incredulous incident on 3rd December in 1976...

It's the day we'll always remember as Algie the giant 40ft inflatable porkie made a bid for freedom.

Algie floated above London and the Civil Aviation Authority even had to issue a warning to pilots that a flying pig was on the loose!

It was all because of a photo shoot that had gone horribly wrong.

Algie was being photographed for the band's upcoming album "Animal".

The monster pig would eventually crash into a barn in Kent and the farmer complained the incident scared his cows!

Well who can blame them?...
