Setting up Led Zeppelin star for a fall

Planting the seeds of doubt about Plant.

It was on this day (16 May) in 1977 that the London Evening Standard reported the lead singer of Led Zeppelin had been arrested.

They said Robert Plant had got drunk at Atlanta Airport and pulled out a knife.

There was one small problem with this - Plant was actually at his home in Wales when it happened!

It turned out it was someone impersonating the rock star and the paper had to publish an apology the next day.
