News of a new toy store in Aylesbury got everyone excited this week.

But we've also heard about a huge number of children who will be homeless in the Vale this Christmas.

We start off with a story which feels all too familiar...

Arriva say they'll fix the problems soon

Since September there have been concerns after kids were left stranded at bus stops in Buckinghamshire.

Four months later, the problem doesn't seem to have improved.

One parent told us that only last week an Arriva bus broke down in Stoke Mandeville and kids had to walk two miles into school.

Everyone got very excited when we announced on Thursday that Smyth's Toys are planning on opening in Aylesbury.

They want to transform the old Curry's store on Broadfields.

Sad - woman - abuse

Shelter warns that over 100 children will be homeless this Chrismas in Aylesbury Vale.

That number has risen from just 6 in 2013, an increase of 1983%.

The charity warns the impact of the housing crisis will be felt across a generation as one in every 172 children in the area is now homeless. 

Greg Beales, director of campaigns at Shelter said:

“No child should be homeless. But for the generation growing up in the housing crisis, this is the grim reality for many. 

“The number of children hidden away in hostels and BnBs is enough to make anyone’s heart sink. These are not places for children.
