This week: Dog attacks, 'dangerous' junction & huge support for Aylesbury restaurant

An Aylesbury favourite announced it was 'up for sale' this week.

Restaurant 'The Works' say they have every intention of staying in the town and the news sparked a surge of support for them.

We also heard that changes will be made to a junction many find dangerous.

Dog attacks were a big talking point this week, though:

Three sheep died in a field near Aylesbury

Three sheep have died after being attacked by a dog just outside of Aylesbury.

Farmer, Helen Lear, was distraught to find her sheep in an awful condition after a dog got through the fence.

They had tried to make it back to farm buildings for shelter.

Helen told us:

"Unfortunately, there was one on the ground and it had lost an ear and most of the top of its head, it had been scalped. 

"The sheep was still alive, which was pretty pitiful."

Sadly, all three couldn't be saved.

Also this week, we saw a deer allegedly killed by two dogs in an Aylesbury park.

Witnesses told us they saw it happen in Alfred Rose Park, but the story caused a huge debate on Facebook:

The Works 4
The Works opened on Market Square in 2014

A popular restaurant in Aylesbury has gone up for sale and the news saw a huge amount of support for the chain.

The Works, who first opened on Market Square, said it was with great sadness that they announced the news.

They have closed their Chelmsford branch - the newest - and the Aylesbury and Wycombe sites are 'up for sale'.

The plan is to stay in the town, though.

Lots of people posted their support, saying they hope The Works sticks around:

Stocklake Junction, suggested improvements
The new Stockalke junction in Aylesbury has seen a few accidents

On Tuesday, we heard that after multiple crashes at a busy Aylesbury junction, improvements and alterations will be made. 

The Stocklake junction, is currently the responsibility of the Developer, Barratt Homes. 

A number of people have been in contact with Mix96 calling for changes to be made as the traffic is a "source of frustration". 

After a Road Safety Audit, there were a number of recommendations and before Buckinghamshire County Council adopt the junction, improvements will be made. 

One person, who wishes to remain anonymous, has suggested a number of things that need to improve.

Aylesbury's new open space officially opened last weekend.

The Exchange is nearly finished and now the space between it and the cinema is now usable.

It features sculptures, inspired by the Paralympics.
